About This Project
The Kaduna North Local Government Council, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Muhammad Gambo Zion, has officially launched a comprehensive free eye surgical outreach in partnership with the Muslim World League. The programme is designed to provide cataract surgery and treatment for other major eye conditions to residents who may otherwise be unable to afford such care.
The outreach commenced today at Al-Shifa Hospital in Unguwan Kanawa, where patients have already begun receiving successful cataract operations and medical evaluation for various eye-related challenges. The initiative reflects the administrationโs commitment to accessible healthcare and targeted intervention for vulnerable groups.
Impact Assessment:
This medical outreach is expected to significantly improve the quality of life for beneficiaries by restoring vision, reducing preventable blindness, and enabling individuals to return to productive activities. By removing the financial burden associated with eye surgery, the programme widens access to essential healthcare services and strengthens community wellbeing.
