About This Project
The Executive Chairman of Kaduna North Local Government, Hon. Muhammad Gambo Zion, has rolled out another phase of the council’s empowerment initiative aimed at strengthening economic participation and supporting vulnerable households. A total of 200 young people received financial grants of ₦50,000 each to expand existing ventures or serve as startup capital for new businesses.
In addition, 50 vulnerable women benefited from essential food support, each receiving a 10kg bag of rice to ease the burden of rising living costs and ensure food security within their families.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including the Kaduna State APC Women Leader, Hajiya Maryam Mai-Rusau, and the ALGON Chairman for Kaduna State, Hon. Muhammad Jamil Abubakar (Albani), who joined the council in celebrating this milestone.
Hon. Muhammad Gambo Zion expressed profound appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for his guidance and continuous support, noting that the intervention directly aligns with the governor’s broader strategy to uplift communities at the grassroots. He assured residents that the empowerment programme is structured to be continuous, inclusive, and far-reaching.
Impact Assessment:
This intervention is already creating measurable improvements across Kaduna North. By providing capital directly to 200 youths, the programme stimulates local enterprise growth, encourages self-reliance, and enhances income generation across small and micro businesses. The food assistance to vulnerable women offers immediate relief for households facing economic strain and helps prevent short-term hunger-related challenges. Collectively, these efforts contribute to improved community welfare, reduced youth unemployment, and a stronger, more resilient local economy.
